SATS 1286: 2011 – MEASUREMENT AND VERIFICATION OF LOCAL CONTENT – LOCAL GOODS SERVICES AND WORKS OVERVIEW The standard specifies requirements and procedures to define, measure, declare and verify the local content production of goods, services and works when required for procurement. It explains on how procurement process shall ensure it contains no less than the level of local content, in terms of the relevant national legislation of Industrial Procurement that is within the designated sectors set by the Minister of the DTI and its minimum thresholds. The course is designed to give a clearer understanding of the requirements and provide steps in the implementation of the measurement and verification of local content i.e. SATS 1286:2011. It provides guidelines on the procurement process, how to complete tender documents and how to verify local content. The various role players in local content implantation process are identified.
