LEARNING OUTCOMES.
• Discuss the relationship (including similarities and differences) between national and international
standardization.
• Describe the process and methodology for developing international standards.
• Identify the role, duties and responsibilities of a national standards body (NSB) in relation to
international standardization.
• Interact appropriately with international committee members and other role players in international
standardization.
• Participate constructively in international committee meetings.
• Explain the considerations for hosting international committee meetings and respond appropriately
to such requests.
• Explain the considerations for acceptance/refusal of the secretariat function for an international
technical committee and respond appropriately to such requests.
MINIMUM PASS MARK: 80%
